AT A GLANCE

Online roulette is easier to compare when the wheel, the payout schedule and any special treatment of zero are recorded separately. Camera angles and table names matter less than those three details.

Count the pockets before comparing the table

Standard single-zero roulette has 37 pockets: 1–36 and zero. Double-zero roulette adds 00 for 38. Evolution's roulette documentation distinguishes its European, American and French versions; its French version applies La Partage to even-money bets when zero lands.

Wheel names are useful clues, but the displayed rules settle the question. Check for additional zero pockets, altered payouts or a special feature before transferring figures from another table. An automated live wheel is still a physical wheel; an animated wheel alone does not establish the same delivery mechanism.

This explains the game, not Australian availability. See the local service rules separately.

Read profit odds and total return separately

The following are conventional payouts, documented in the Massachusetts Gaming Commission's roulette rules. They are a reference for recognising ordinary bets, not a promise about every online variant.

A winning A$2 straight bet at 35:1 produces A$70 profit plus the A$2 stake returned, for A$72 in total. Calling both A$70 and A$72 “the payout” without defining the term invites confusion.

Why zero changes an even-money bet

On a fair single-zero wheel with ordinary settlement, red wins on 18 pockets and loses on 19. At a one-unit stake and 1:1 profit odds, the mathematical average is (18 − 19) ÷ 37 = −1/37, or about −2.70% per unit staked. On an ordinary double-zero wheel it is (18 − 20) ÷ 38 = −2/38, about −5.26%.

These are calculations from the stated wheel and payout assumptions, not session forecasts. A short session can lose substantially more.

With La Partage on an eligible single-zero even-money bet, zero loses half a unit rather than a full unit. The corresponding calculation is −0.5/37, approximately −1.35%. The rule does not automatically apply to straight, street or other inside bets.

A wider layout also means a larger total stake

A neighbour or racetrack selection can place several separate chips with one click. Inspect both the value per chip and the number of positions covered. The total confirmed stake is the amount exposed, not the value printed on a single chip.

For example, five separate A$1 straight bets cost A$5. If exactly one wins at ordinary 35:1 odds, A$36 returns from that winning position; the other A$4 is lost, leaving A$31 net profit for the combined selection. This is settlement arithmetic, not a recommendation or an improvement in the wheel's probabilities.

Favourite-bet controls can restore a whole pattern. Check its total again after changing denomination or using a repeat button.

Multipliers require their own complete payout schedule

A table offering multiplied straight-up results should not be assumed to retain every payout of conventional roulette. Read the ordinary winning payout, how special numbers are selected, which bets qualify and whether any extra fee applies. A large maximum multiplier answers none of those questions by itself.

Likewise, two-ball or multi-wheel games introduce additional outcomes and settlement rules. Comparing only the number of pockets would miss the changed product.

Record the exact table name when saving rules. Our live casino guide explains why a bet-acceptance record matters more than whether a delayed video appeared to show betting still open.

A history panel records results; it does not schedule the next one

A sequence of red results does not create a requirement that black appear next on a properly random independent spin. Increasing stakes after losses changes the money exposed, not the wheel's requirement to compensate you. Finite funds and table limits also prevent a progression from continuing indefinitely.

If an outcome or payment looks wrong, preserve the round ID, accepted positions, chip values and table rules. Check whether the number landed was included in the actual selection rather than the pattern you intended. A screenshot taken before acceptance can show an attempted bet instead of a confirmed one.

THE DETAILS READERS ASK ABOUT

Questions, answered

Does zero count as even for an even-money bet?

No. Under conventional roulette settlement, zero is outside the odd/even, red/black and high/low groups. Any special zero rule must be stated.

Does 35:1 include my original stake?

As profit odds, 35:1 means 35 units won plus the winning stake returned. Some displays instead show the inclusive total, so check their labels.

Does La Partage apply to every bet?

No. The rule described here concerns eligible even-money bets when zero lands. It should not be applied to all positions.

Can recent numbers identify a guaranteed winning selection?

No. A results panel is a record of past outcomes, not a schedule of future ones.
